Behind the Image:

"The Pigeon Point Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located on the central California coast, about 5 miles south of Pescadero, between Santa Cruz and San Francisco. It was built in 1871 and began operating in 1872. It is named after the ship Carrier Pigeon, which sank in the area in 1853. It is one of the tallest lighthouses on the West Coast at 115 feet. I photographed it during the day and turned it into a black and white night shot."
